Poppi and Grammi's Visit to the Zoo

Love having Poppi and Grammi come over on Wednesdays.  Especially when Eli gets a trip to the zoo so I can work!  Obviously, he had a blast - Thanks P&G!

Eli - 21 Month Stats

21 Month Stats:
1) Last month as an only child. We tried to do all the things that he loves
2) Sleeps with Angel the dog now, and is starting to sleep with Everley's sheep ... I guess, now Eli's
3) Wears sunglasses in the car everywhere he goes, sunny or not
4) Says "I love you too" and "I love you so much"
5) Sings the whole way through Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
6) Balls, Balls, and more Balls! There must be a ball within 5 feet of this kid at all times.
7) Has a new found love of our baked sweet potatoes bites that we make, dipped in ketchup
8) Teachers say he shows great leadership skills in his class ... I think they are just finding a way to be nice to say that he can be a little bossy and knows what he likes :)
9) Loves Rocks -- clearly, all boy!
10) Loves all animals - as if we haven't said that enough already.  His heart just grows with each new animal that he learns
11) Loves going on his new explorer trail
12) Favorite books this month: Dr. Seuss - Mr. Brown can Moo, Hop on Pop, Big Red Barn, Dear Zoo,
13) Favorite Shows: Back to Pet Party (or Animals), Winnie the Pooh, Little Einsteins
14) Goes to the piano and automatically starts playing and saying high notes/low notes where I have not even prompted him.  Love it!

#Iwearmysunglassesatnight ... everytime we are in the car, he must have them on.

Love our sweet morning cuddle time together.  I wouldn't change these moments for anything.  He wakes up around 6:30a, always tells me 'he slept well' or 'he needs another nap', but he is always so happy to get the day started.  We come into mom and dads bed, read a few books, and maybe watch an episode of Little Einsteins if we are in a deep cuddle or if we have additional time (normally on the weekend).
#reallife -- Derek is never ready to wake up in the morning, so love that we were able to get his tired face in action :)
Pumping some iron with dad

Jelly Toast!!!! Breakfast is his favorite meal, and he loves it all!
Just chillin' in the playroom.  He sat there for what seemed like forever in Toddler minutes.

 He loves running!!
Nightime cuddle time with mom and angel
 BALLS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eli's Last Weekend as an Only Child

Last weekend we just wanted to hang out and have some great family time.  We did all of Eli's favorite things and just spent as much time together to just love on him.  I know he is going to be a great big brother, and I know it will only get better from here, but there is still an emotional tie for me knowing that this will be a big change for him and us.
Starting off with morning cuddle time. Obviously I couldn't choose just one.  I love how Derek is still trying to sleep - not the biggest morning person :)
HA - like mother like son! Everybody should know now that I do not take the best action shots, and clearly my son follows suit.  I have no idea how the picture was taken, but it cracks be up.  (You are welcome Alison :)

 Parks and Slides!

 I love running!!!
We went for a morning stroll.  We found a new part of a mountain biking trail that is easy enough to walk and take the stroller on.  This route is now a daily staple in our routine.  Eli can get out of the stroller and run around, while we hunt for deer and rocks :)

My cute little explorer in his morning PJs :)

ROCKS! Each time we go on a walk, we collect a new batch of rocks in the stroller.  He throws them out the next day so there is room to find new ones.
 Fun times with Dad.
Chilling with mom - he just came up for a cuddle and we just sat there watching the bug on the slide.  He was mesmerized - I guess its the little things.

And of course - we had to the end the weekend with a visit to the zoo!!!
My pensive boys listening intently to the bear trainer explaining how the bears get fed.

Dance party on our afternoon walk.  You should see the video!  To bad it won't load on the blog.
