34 Weeks

Let's just say 30 was a birthday to remember for sure!  After all of the festivities, Derek and I were just hanging out relaxing on Sunday night when I started to have some minor complications.  We monitored everything that night per doctors orders and went in to see them first thing Monday morning.  The great news is that Eli was absolutely perfect, his heart rate was normal and the ultrasound was great.  This was a blessing to have a peace of mind after staying up all night and wondering what is going on.  However, they wanted to monitor me a little more since they were not 100% sure what happened.

More than likely I slightly tore my placenta.  Only 25% of tears are found in ultrasounds, and nothing was found on mine - everything looked fine.  Therefore, the doctors wanted to monitor me and Eli overnight in the hospital to make sure I didn't go into labor or have my symptoms get any worse.
The good news is that if we were to go into labor, Eli and I will be perfectly fine - it is just not the doctors first choice.  He is already measuring about 6 pounds, and now we are only 4 weeks away from our original due date.

Oh Derek who cannot sleep anywhere and has minor insomnia.  He always has to sleep with the lights off, pillows over his head, and no sound - total opposite of me.  I guess this goes to show that if you are that exhausted you can sleep anywhere.  I rested during the day and was not tired that night.  I was depending on Derek to stay up with me and keep me company.  I decided to be a good wife and let him get a little rest. At least he got a test run of what his bed will be like the next time we are in the labor and delivery room. :)

Bored selfie ... no one to talk to, so why not document the night :)
This was the portable machine that I was hooked up to all night long.  This monitored Eli's perfect heart beat, movement, and tracked any contractions that I was having.  And let's not forget to mention the sexy hospital gown - HA!
Yes, hospital food is terrible.  Derek went back to the house to gather a few things and brought back the extra loaf of zucchini bread that mom made for my birthday.  It was delicious and just what I needed at the moment!!
Eli's 4D glamour shot.  We were only able to get his profile based on his positioning.  I know this might be hard to tell what exactly you are looking at, but don't feel bad - the tech had to point his features out to me a few times before I caught on.  On the left side from top to bottom, starting with his forehead, bridge of his nose, then his eye, and nose, with his little cheek bone right beside his tiny nose - SUCH A CUTE FACE!  His left arm is wrapped across the rest of his face.  The doctors kept calling this his "Batman pose" - just exposing the top of his face. Love it!
