Pumpkin Patch

I have never been in town to experience the pumpkin patch across from my family's church.  As soon as it opened, we were there.  I wasn't going to miss it this year with Eli.  In fact we used the great scenery and props for his 4 month picture.  This needs to be an annual event for us now, and we need to find one in Austin.

Jessica's Baby Shower

You all have probably heard be talk about Jill and the Windle's.  Jill and my mom are best friends from high school, and she is always a fabulous hostess for my wedding and baby showers with DeDe. The three of them are inseparable.  Well now Jill's daughter, Jessica, is having a baby boy and it is time to celebrate Baby Hunter. So exciting that Eli will have another little friend to play with!!

Mom and I drove down to Houston for the weekend.  Carol (DeDe's daughter) and Andy were so nice to let Eli and me stay at their new home - BEAUTIFUL!. Eli definitely had fun meeting and playing with his new bff Barrett. And then Jill and Dan hosted a fabulous dinner at their house on Saturday night. It was so much fun hanging out and seeing everybody.  Wish we could do this more often!!

Jessica's Fun Shower!!  Looking forward to meeting Baby Hunter!

Jessica and Nathan - already naturals!  They will be AMAZING parents.
I am bummed that this is the only picture I have with just Carol.  AND, we didn't get a picture of just the 3 daughters.  Oh well, I guess we will just have to wait until next time :)
Moms & Daugthers. So fun that we are all starting the next generation with all boys!

Barrett and Eli.  I have a feeling these two are going to be Colorado besties chasing around ground squirrels
Andy did great watching 2 boys.  What great practice :)
Sweet Barrett with his "Jefe".   Yes, Wayne's friend is known as 'the boss" to his grandkids, so naturally Wayne chose "Jefe" (boss in Spanish). You can never get enough of Wayne-o!

Hanging out in Jill's beautiful back yard, enjoying the porch swings and vino.

We love Cousins!!

These guys are so cute together that I had to make a separate post just for cousin pictures.
Aslynn loves being the oldest cousin.  She gets to hold Eli and loves singing to him.  He responds really well and stops crying whenever she sings hush little baby and pats his back.  Can't wait for her to get a little older so she can babysit for me :)

Hudson likes having another boy around. He helps me bathe and sing to Eli, and Hud is also great at sharing his toys and ipad to keep Eli entertained.

Miss Ryder Roo is soooo precious with Eli.  I love it when they get together.  Whenever she sees Eli she immediately gets this big smile on her face, starts waving and talking, and crawls over to where he is to start playing with him. Eli reacts the same way.  They both get these BIG smiles on their face and start to baby talk and interact with each other.

 Play time with Ryder

Cousin Pumpking patch time!  I love how Eli just watches Ryder with every move she makes.

Afghanistan Fake Out

Uncle Kyloo accepted another year contract in Afghanistan.  My work was awesome and let me work remote from my mom's house so we could be there for family dinners/happy hours etc.  However, after Kyle packed up and moved back into mom's house (for a day) his security clearance was denied 24 hours before he was leaving.  Ali describes the situation really well on her blog, so really - why re-invent the wheel.  :)

For whatever reason (aka answered prayers), his security clearance is suppose to last 2 years from his last deployment. He has only been back for 6 months, but he found out the day before he was scheduled to leave that his security clearance was DENIED. Which means, he can't deploy until it is reinstated. Kyle said this can be anywhere from 6-8 weeks. Who knows what the future holds. Until then, I will just cherish all the time we have. I did tell Kyle no more long drawn out goodbyes anymore. I am pretty sure he is okay with that - ha! But, I have a feeling we will be having plenty of family time. Kyle is now a stay at home son again. He had to move back in with mom because he broke his lease on his house and had movers put all of his stuff in storage.

Below is a week of Uncle Kyloo pictures that we were expecting to post when he left; however, seems like this turned into more of a celebration post!! (Well at least a few more weeks of celebrating family time :).

Eli got some Granny lovin' too!

Kyle is clearly over some pictures

This was supposed to be our goodbye lunch with Kyle literally minutes after he found out his security clearance was pulled.

Kyle's celebratory ... I mean ... "good luck overseas & Thank you" drink from the bartender.  Guess he can't go back to Mi Dia any time soon. :)

Some great shots for the "Awkward Ali Calendar 2015".  We love it after Alison has a margarita - so funny and relaxed :)
Ali always has food in her teeth.  I have no idea how it gets there ALL THE TIME, but it just does.  Derek promptly responded with the Ace Ventura bit -- so true!

Afterwards, we decided to continue our "business lunch" in historic grapevine at the legendary Willhoute's.  I have never seen this bar during the day -- so colorful -- ha!

Night out in Dallas

Well it has been a while but we finally had a legit night out.  Eli has dropped the midnight feeding and has been sleeping through the night for the past month, so Derek and I took advantage of Mimi and Pa and went out in Dallas.  Ali had some friends in town for a wedding, and we met up with Lanese and Brady.  And of course Derek was able to convince the entire wedding party that he was in "the band"  We had so much fun, and we loved every bit of our outing!!!

Devon (above) & Katie (below) were Ali's college roommates and now life long friends.  I met these girls when I was a senior and visited OU for one of my college visit days.  Everybody thought Katie and I were sisters instead of Ali, so of course she let me use her ID.  Thank you for letting me be the little sister that tags along.   Good to know things don't change :)
Uber was so lucky to take us home that night!

Liz's Sprinkle

Our Missional Community group hosted a small "sprinkle" to celebrate Liz & Tim and soon to be Baby Annabelle.  Eli has a ton a boy bff's already, so its nice to throw in a girl.  We love the Heyl's and cannot wait to meet Annabelle!

Thank you for hosting in your new and beautiful home Casey and Mark!
