Our First Week as a New Family - One Week Old

Well, here we go again ... I can't believe it's already been a week.  We have had fun having Mimi in town help us with the transition, and it's also been great to hang out as a family of four.  Eli is still pretty wonderful with Evi and wants to see her as soon as he wakes up.  I used to get the first morning hugs, but I guess that has changed.  Here are a couple stats from the week.

1) Everley left the hospital at 5lb 11 oz (7% weight loss)
2) First doctors appointment gained 3 oz, up to 5lb 14oz.
3) This girl latched on right away within 5 minutes of being born.  She eats great, when she wants to, but it is definitely tough to wake her up when she just wants to snooze. We do everything, take off clothes, change diapers, tickle, nothing really seems to work right away.
4) Trying to be on a 2-3 hour feeding schedule.  I have to start waking her up at hour 2 to try and get her to start feeding at the 3 hour point.
5) You know when she is done eating.  She will ever so delicately roll completely to her back, stretch her arms and legs, and then just go limp.  Quite possibly one of the cutest poses ever, and this happens EVERY TIME she nurses
6) Derek is the master diaper changer and swaddler.  You will feel him watching over your shoulder if you take his job away from him ... and he will fix it his way right after you think you have done a good job :)
7) I think she is going to be blonde like her big brother.  She already has blonde peach fuzz coming in, she has short white eyelashes (sorry girl!), and non existent eyebrows.

My favorite family of four collage.

On our way home from the hospital

We're home! I can always count on mom to decorate the house in baby decor - so fun.  Thanks mimi!!

The snuggle is real y'all!

First morning family picture.  We all look a little rough, but that's real life and I love it.  I wouldn't have it any other way!
Her 3 step satisfaction stretch after nursing ... stretch, coo, snuggle.

First doctors appointment

All she does is sleep right now.  I guess this is a blessing (eventually) and a curse.  It is so hard to wake her up to feed.  I have to start 30min-1hr in advance to wake her up before we start nursing.

1x1 time - nature walk with our sweet boy
First bath

I love the aunt jemima poses ... that hat :)

We have been blessed with friends bringing over food.  Eli has loved it as well!
My sweet boy wearing his Davy Crockett hat ... or Sienna (our cat)

I swear one day I will get back to the getting dressed and make-up stage; however, I am just loving the adjustment and hang out time with my family.
Daddy's little girl
Love My boyz
This is a rare find!!  we have always wondered what Eli looks like when he sleeps in his nap mat at school.  Derek went to go pick him up, and he was still in the middle of his 3 hour snooze - we couldn't believe it!! So cute.
Eli loving the park and slide time with his Dad and Cornbread (Derek's Dad)
Thanks for coming in and visiting Cornbread - we had a blast!
 3 generations of Davis boys

 Those pouty lips

The Halamuda's came to visit at the hospital - love them!

3 years ago skiing at Winterpark. Such a fun vaca pre kids.

7 years ago - me and Aslynn, and to date - Ali and Evi

Oh yeah - and 4 years ago Derek proposed at Hamilton's pool ... now look at us!!
