3 Months

August flew by and Eli is already 3 months old.  Derek kept correcting me a few weeks ago when I kept telling people he was 8 weeks old - not the case.  August is bittersweet.  Even though I went through all of these health complications, I am very thankful to have had this extra month with my sweet boy.
This past week was my first week back to work, and therefore Eli's first week at daycare.  It is true - bring the box of tissues.  I thought I was going to be ok with a few moments here and there, but it turns out those tough moments lasted the entire week.  However, we made it through.  I know everything will be ok, but it is just a tough transition.
However, Eli did great with Daycare.  I found a family owned place 5 minutes away from my work, so it has been great to leave during lunch to go and feed and hang out with him.  The first couple of days, I would just cry through the feedings, but I am getting better.  When we get there and Eli sees his ladies, he immediately starts smiling and laughing.  It is good to know that he is at peace there and loves it.

We love watching this little boy grow.  He has been so amazing, and we cannot wait to see what he achieves each month.

- My scale says 9.2 lbs
- I feel like his head is so heavy when he nurses ... what happened to my little 6lb baby boy :)
- Wearing newborn clothes, starting 0-3 months
- Smiling and talking like crazy
- The Ladies at day care nicknamed him "the Charmer"
- He was sleeping through the night by about week 10, from 10-4/5.  However, this past week (our transition week), he started waking up again at 2:30 for a feeding.  I am hoping that we can get him back on schedule soon.  Mama really needs some sleep now that I am back at work.
- First airplane ride to Colorado
- His head raises are so strong and controlled on Tummy time.  Even his daycare teachers were impressed
- Still absolutely loves his bath time

Can you ever just choice one picture?!?!?!?  It was difficult to get him to smile.  He had a long at school, and I was being "that" mom.

First day at Day care - or I call it his fist day of school pictures.

Loves laying out with his mama!!
The many faces of Eli.

Estes Park, CO Vacation

Estes Park - where do we begin?  This place hold so many memories for us.  We went here every summer with the Springers as kids, and now we are starting to go again with the new generation.  So fun - there is something for everybody.  This was our last "hoorah" vacation, because it was back to reality the day we got home with work and daycare.  Needless to say we made every minute count!

Eli's first airplane ride.  We made it!!  He was absolutely perfect and slept the entire way.

We randomly ran into Derek's AE in the airport arriving AND departing.  When do you ever see anybody you know in the aiport?!?!

Once we landed, Eli was ALL SMILES .... seriously, all smiles.  He was trying to get the attention of anybody walking by.  We, of course, thought it was precious :)

 SERIOUSLY ... ALL SMILES :)

We joke around all the time how Kyle only has a burner phone, and has never used a smart phone a day in his life.  Well, turns out his way was better.  He used an original map and proved our GPS systems wrong.
Our view from the cabin.  Heaven!

Bundled up in August - So refreshing!

Our favorite spot - Coffee on the Rocks.

This is the first picture where I really think Eli looks like Derek.
We love our Mosaic crafts. I made a guitar for Eli's nursery and coasters for the house.  For some reason, this was so therapeutic, and I loved going here with mom.  Yall might be getting some coasters for Christmas:)
Trying to get a family picture - not really working out that well, but we tried.

We love Glen Haven! The best Cinnamon Rolls you could ever imagine, and they are the size of your face.  Last fall the entire town was wiped out by the floods - so sad. We absolutely love this town, so glad they are starting to rebuild everything.
I just love this picture of Hudson and Kyle
Derek rode Hudson around on the bike.  Derek said that once they got to the top of the hill Hudson told him to stop because his legs were tired ... ha!
 Our mountain walks

The new mountain man - Strollers and mountains

One of our favorite spots in the Rocky Mountain National Park - Moraine Park

I loved the neon yellow flowers everywhere!!

So glad I brought the scarf - VERY multifunctional!  Warmth, feeding, sun shade

Charles and Derek went on a hike while mom and I walked around the river.  I love how big Charles' walking stick is compared to the rookie.
The water was freezing, but we did it!
One of my new favorite family pictures.

Eli went through a growth spurt the first 2 days we were there.  There were 2 ways he stopped crying, the stroller or nursing every hour.  Derek ran up the mountain a few times to get his lungs prepared for his mountain biking trip, and to give mom a little break.

Derek found a 1x1 mountain biking trip.  They climbed 34 miles straight up.  What a work out!

Mama needs her happy hour too :)
On our night out, we found a local bar "downtown" Estes called BAR.  Fun times with the siblings and husbands ... looks like Ali needs to work on her dart game for next time.
RED ROCKS AMPITHEATER!! Derek missed the first Jack White concert in Shreveport because Eli was born.  We wanted to try to see a show there regardless who was playing, and it happened to be JACK - our favorite!!  We got there just in time for the show, the scenery is still beautiful at night.
These pictures were taken 30 minutes before it started pouring down rain ... POURING.  We did not have any covering, and we literally sat and watched the concert for 2 hours.  The rain never let up -- we were all in this together.  However, I was not drinking nor smoking what everybody else was around me, so I was freezing and did not enjoy the situation as much.  Derek was high off of Jack White so he could of cared less.  All in All it was a great time, and when will this ever happen again??  At the end of the day, I am glad that we went.
